As a product designer at Microsoft working on consumer Copilot, I'm often brought into ambiguous, high-pressure projects that need traction fast. The work I enjoy most requires creative thinking on an ambitious timeline. I love to make sense of a mess and create a path forward when one doesn't exist.
My background in chemical engineering shaped the way I approach design. It taught me to understand complex systems, navigate competing constraints, and solve problems where every decision creates downstream effects.
Today, that translates into designing products, building alignment, and helping teams move from uncertainty to action. Whether I'm inheriting a struggling project, defining a new direction, or connecting people across organizational boundaries, my goal is always the same: turn complexity into momentum.
Wait, you were a chemical engineer?
Before becoming a designer, I earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Physics and worked everywhere from Boeing's physics and materials team to an ethylene amine petrochemical plant.
At first glance, it seems unrelated to product design. But in practice, it explains much of how I work. The tools changed. The problem-solving didn't.
