About
About Alexander
I'm a creative with a background in engineering and analytics. UX design is exciting because I can apply critical thinking to a whole new set of variables. I was originally drawn to both chemical engineering and data analytics because I liked untangling and solving complex problems. Turns out I also enjoy working in the world of color, shape, and type.
When I’m not in Figma, I love karaoke, roller-skating, or even karaoke roller-skating!
Before UX Design
Did you have Chemical Engineering on your bingo card? I graduated with a degree in ChemE and worked at an ethylene amine petrochemical plant in Freeport, Texas. I hated that job though, so I kept pivoting until I found UX design. I uprooted my life in Texas to take a chance on design, and through some sleepless nights and lucky breaks I landed at Microsoft.
Sometimes people say cool things about me
“It is rare to find someone with both creative and analytical expertise--Alexander brings both skills to the table. When redesigning key sections of our customer portal, Alexander seamlessly bridged the gap between customer needs and business requirements with an innovative design solution that my team is excited to bring to market. He adapts quickly, thinks outside the box, and really listens to your needs. His creativity and enthusiasm are contagious and he is an absolute delight to work with. Any project team would be lucky to have him!”
-Katrina Taylor, Head of UX and Product Design at Armoire
“I had pleasure working with Alexander for the past 1.5 years. During that time, Alexander was continuously impressing me in multiple ways - he is creative, excellent presenter and public speaker, reliable, and very fast learner. He can do and excel at pretty much anything that comes to his plate. Alexander's positive attitude and impeccable ethics make him easy and fun to work with. Alexander will be a great asset for any department or company that he chooses to work for.”
